Radiographer​/Clinical Technologist Nuclear Medicine, Band 5

Overview

Due to promotion an opportunity has arisen for a permanent Band 5 Radiographer/ Clinical Technologist to join the existing Nuclear Medicine team of 20 staff. This is an interesting and varied role providing support to the day‑to‑day operations of the Nuclear Medicine Imaging.

There are currently three gamma cameras over the two Trust sites, two with SPECT CT capability. At the Gloucester Trust site there is a new SPECT‑CT gamma camera installed in a recently upgraded department.

There is an in‑house Radiopharmacy used for the daily manufacture of radiopharmaceuticals, which is operated jointly with the Pharmacy department. This post is primarily to support Imaging on both sites; flexibility and travel between the sites will be required. The job purpose is to provide radiographic support, undertaking a wide range of routine diagnostic imaging carried out in Nuclear Medicine. The role requires working with specialist equipment, including three dual‑headed gamma cameras (two with CT capability), isotope calibrators, and contamination monitors.

Nuclear Medicine is one of four departments within the Medical Physics department and there are strong links and support provided by the other Heads of Department and their respective staff. The Medical Physics Department is a strong advocate for staff training and development and is an accredited training centre for the NSHCS STP & HSST training schemes as well as the IPEM Clinical Technologist training scheme.
