Overview
Hobbits Holt is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join their team. This is a full time role.
Shifts:
Days and nights with weekends. (8AM - 8PM and 8PM-8AM).
Pay Rate: £12.60.
Hobbits Holt is located in Ruspidge, in Cinderford, close to the Forest of Dean. Our home provides residential support for six people who have a learning disability. Hobbits Holt is in a quiet residential area, with off‑road parking and no main roads. Our team are dedicated to supporting our residents to achieve their full potential in social and educational activities as well as in their day‑to‑day life.
It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However while this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.

Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you’ll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work.
Responsibilities- Assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.
- Provide support with day‑to‑day activities, while encouraging and promoting independent living.
- Assist with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes.
- Assist with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals.
- Assist and support to attend medical appointments.
- Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well‑being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff.
- Support the development of important family connections and liaise with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams.
- Encourage participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth.

- Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
- Empathy, understanding and patience
- Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
- Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure
- The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
- Competent in verbal and written English
- A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential
- Right to work in the UK
