This well‑established college is expanding its Construction provision and is looking to appoint a trainer in Carpentry to join its growing team. With a strong reputation for supporting staff development, funded teaching qualifications, and modern workshop facilities, this is an excellent opportunity to transition from site work into education.
In this role, you will deliver high‑quality teaching to both apprentices and full‑time Carpentry students. You will plan and deliver engaging workshop and classroom sessions, assess learners' work, provide structured feedback, and support students in achieving their qualifications and career progression goals.
This is a brilliant opportunity for a Level 3 qualified carpenter to come off the tools and inspire the next generation of tradespeople.
The Role:- Full training and teaching qualification support provided
- Delivering Carpentry to apprentices and full‑time learners
- Planning and delivering engaging workshop and classroom sessions
- Marking, assessing and providing constructive feedback
- Supporting learners with individual needs and overcoming barriers
- Contributing to recruitment, retention and achievement targets
- Participating in open days and employer engagement activities
- Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety and safeguarding
- NVQ Level 3 in Carpentry (or equivalent)
- Relevant industry experience within construction
- Teaching qualification (PGCE/Cert Ed) or willingness to achieve
- Motivated to inspire and support young people
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Professional, adaptable and learner‑focused
- Assessor/IQA awards beneficial but not essential
