Academics are currently recruiting for an Inclusion and SEND Support Assistant to join a specialist setting in Gloucester. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates or individuals considering careers in teaching, educational psychology, therapy, social work, or mental health.
The Role – Inclusion and SEND Support Assistant- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND
- Promote inclusive learning by adapting activities to meet individual needs
- Support pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
- Help implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Foster independence, confidence, and social development
- Contribute to a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
- A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach
- A genuine interest in inclusion and SEND
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Psychology, education, counselling, or related background desirable
- Previous SEND, SEMH, or support work experience beneficial but not essential
- Opportunity to work within a supportive and inclusive specialist setting in Gloucester
