A forward-thinking and welcoming primary school in Gloucester is seeking an experienced Key Stage 1 professional for an exciting KS1 Teacher role, starting September 2026. This KS1 Teacher position is specifically suited to an experienced teacher, rather than an ECT, who is eager to contribute to curriculum development, mentor colleagues, and support whole-school improvement. The school places a strong emphasis on early reading, phonics, and high-quality first teaching across KS1.

As a KS1 Teacher, you will deliver high-quality Key Stage 1 teaching with a particular focus on phonics and early literacy, including Read Write Inc. (RWI). Alongside your classroom responsibilities, you will take on additional responsibilities aligned with your strengths and experience, offering genuine progression within a thriving Gloucester school.

• Demonstrate consistently strong KS1 teaching practice
• Have excellent knowledge of the KS1 curriculum, including phonics and early reading
• Show confidence in delivering and supporting Read Write Inc. (RWI)
• Set high expectations to secure strong outcomes in reading, writing, and maths
• Support pupils with SEND and diverse learning needs
• Build positive, professional relationships with staff, pupils, and families
• Contribute to subject leadership, mentoring, or whole-school initiatives
• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across the KS1 curriculum
• Lead or support phonics and early reading development, including RWI
• Work closely with SLT and KS1 colleagues
• Support attainment, inclusion, and curriculum development
• Take on additional responsibilities suited to experience
• Based in Gloucester within a friendly, ambitious primary school

• Experienced teacher, not an ECT
