Job Summary
ABL Health delivers the Healthy Lifestyles service in Gloucestershire, commissioned by Gloucestershire County Council. The service seeks to work collaboratively with communities to transform lives by helping residents lose weight, quit smoking, reduce alcohol consumption, become more active, and improve wellbeing through sustainable behaviour change. It also delivers the Healthy Beginnings programme supporting families and young children, and the Healthy Workplace award scheme.
Role OverviewYou will provide administrative support to the Gloucestershire Service, working with the Head of Service and the team to ensure smooth operation of the office and administration of the programs to meet targets and deadlines. Based in the Gloucester office.

Key Responsibilities- Provide a range of administration duties, including patient and health professional letters, database updates, appointment bookings, telephone queries and liaising with health professionals and colleagues.
- Take incoming calls, ensuring transfers and efficient message handling.
- Provide general clerical and administrative support, word processing, filing routine correspondence, following established systems.
- Manage confidential patient files on a database and paper.
- Handle healthcare referrals promptly, adhering to company timescales.
- Book appointments using appropriate calendar software, record client data accurately.
- Exchange information using IT systems such as Excel, Word, and in‑house database.
- Encourage and assess client readiness for specific behaviour change.
- Support service leads in sourcing new venues.
- Monitor weekly workload and service targets.
- Dispense Nicotine Replacement Therapy through postal services.
- Demonstrable experience in a reception/administration role.
- GCSE level in Maths and English or equivalent.
- NVQ level 2 in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.
- RSA Typing II or above.
- NVQ level 3 in a relevant subject.
- Demonstrable experience in an administration role.
- Experience of working in a team environment.
- Minute taking for meetings.
- Experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., community health provider, GP practice, hospital).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and telephone skills.
- Ability to work under high pressure and in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills; efficient problem solving.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, punctuality, reliability, honesty.
- Proactive, independent, confident in using own initiative.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook; IT skills.
- Excellent customer care and ability to multi‑task.
- Understanding of information governance and data protection policies.
- Experience with software packages.
Employer:

Salary: £23,809 per year.
Contract:
Permanent, Full‑time.
