The Beach Attendant is responsible for ensuring the Beach area is well maintained and ready for guest use. This position is responsible for the upkeep of the beach, to include all lounge chairs, umbrellas and beach equipment.
Essential Functions- Ensure the upkeep, cleanliness and housekeeping of the beach area; utilizing a checklist to monitor quality on a regular basis.
- Monitor the beach area, to ensure that chairs are accessible, setup, and all amenities are replenished on a regular basis.
- Maintain proper stock and rotation of towels, transporting dirty towels to laundry, assisting when needed to process linen with the Laundry department.
- Maintain cleanliness by cleaning lounge chairs, as needed.
- Ensure sufficient inventory of supplies.
- Greet guests, directing to open lounge chairs when necessary.
- Empty trash containers.
- Represent a positive working liaison with all other Team members.
- Complete all listed opening and closing checklists, cleaning checklists, and duties related to shift.
- Assist team members as needed to promote a positive teamwork environment.
- Perform other duties as requested by Management.
- Ability to stand for 8’ hours length of time.
- Ability to walk/stand approximately 90% of shift.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuous basis.
- Interior and exterior of hotel, primarily beach area directly in front of Beauport Hotel, exposure to sun, heat, cold and changing weather conditions.
- Available in season June - September weekends, and holidays (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day).
- Requires good communication; both verbal and written.
- Must be able to show initiative, anticipating guest or operational needs.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English Language. A second language is desirable.
- Ability to practice and adhere to all safety requirements.
