Take responsibility for a wide variety of legal, clerical, and administrative activities in recording and document processing of court proceedings for the Gila County Superior Court. Record the official record of court activities and assist in the clerk's office with pre- and post-courtroom preparation. Operate the Audio Digital Recording System. Record and transcribe dictation at court proceedings. Issue jail releases, warrants, and confidential orders.
Train new courtroom clerks. Prepare, process, and certify copies. Summarize and type court proceedings in minute entry form. Keep records of matters under advisement to ensure judges' rulings are within legal time limits. Custody and mark exhibits presented as evidence, and dispose of them at the appropriate time. Prepare required packet of court documentation for all defendants in cases where a term of imprisonment has been imposed.
Take direct dictation from a judge to prepare necessary orders. Perform bailiff duties when necessary. Distribute court orders to parties entitled to notice and issue arrest warrants at court's direction. Manage person demographics in the Case Management System. Oversee the Online Minute Entry Access (OMEA) transmission function to enable public display of minute entries on the Supreme Court website. Assist in research and preparation of statistical reports.
Perform other clerical duties such as docketing and filing court documents and assist in preparation of closed cases for record retention. Complete 16 hours of mandatory continuing education.
