RoleSpecifics and Responsibilities
In this Post Surgical RN assignment, you’ll serve as a key member of the perioperative and inpatient recovery teams, delivering high‑quality postoperative care from admission through discharge.
- Conduct comprehensive postoperative assessments, monitor vital signs, pain levels, and neurological status; identify deviations and initiate timely interventions.
- Perform wound and drain care, dressing changes, infection prevention practices, and meticulous documentation within electronic medical records.
- Manage coordinated pain relief strategies, including pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic approaches, while prioritizing safety and patient comfort.
- Support early mobilization, respiratory care, and prevention of postoperative complications; collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and physical therapy for optimal recovery plans.
- Execute discharge planning, patient and family education, medication reconciliation, and arrangements for post‑acute care or home support.
