Registered Nurse - CVICU

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is responsible for delivering exceptional care to patients with life-threatening conditions or comorbidities that require advanced organ support and invasive monitoring. This role demands a critical care nurse who excels in a fast-paced, challenging environment, leveraging deep clinical knowledge and quick decision-making skills to manage the highest acuity patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care for patients experiencing critical health issues, including overdose, post-surgery recovery, trauma, and chronic illness.
• Utilize sophisticated organ support and invasive monitoring techniques to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective care plans.
• Monitor and assess patients’ conditions, making timely adjustments to treatment protocols as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records using electronic charting systems, specifically EPIC.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care.

Licensure/Certification:

• Current BLS (AHA) and ACLS certifications.

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in an ICU setting.

• Proficient in computer charting and familiar with EPIC electronic health record systems.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
