POSITION SUMMARY

The Colorado Director of Sales (DoS) plays a critical role in the success of the territory, region and success of the retail enterprise. This position will oversee an experienced team of P&C producers, as well as be responsible for the recruitment and development of new producers. The DoS will work in close collaboration with the Colorado Regional Executive in driving organic growth and the development of a professionalized sales culture across the territory.

ESSENTIAL

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage a team of Colorado property and casualty producers.
  • Run and manage weekly & monthly sales meetings (cadence to be developed in conjunction with leadership). Focus on sales production, professional development and product knowledge.
  • Recruit, onboard, and support the development of new producers.
  • Create and maintain a high-performance, growth-oriented sales culture.
  • Set and track sales goals, production metrics, and performance benchmarks.
  • Provide regular coaching, mentoring, and accountability for producers.
  • Oversee and maintain carrier relationships, keeping producers informed of product changes, appetite shifts, and underwriting updates.
  • Stay current on industry trends, competitor activity, and market developments.
  • Identify opportunities for specialization, cross-sell, and upsell within the book of business.
  • Report regularly to leadership on producer sales performance, and development.
  • Work with leadership, operations, service, and accounting teams to ensure alignment of goals and projects.
  • Represent the agency at Denver carrier meetings, industry events, and conferences.
  • Collaborate with marketing on campaigns and sales enablement materials.
  • Foster greater cross-department collaboration among producers to help drive organic growth
  • Attend insurance industry, carrier and COI events to help grow the GIA brand and sales culture.
  • Work with assigned producers to create annual business plans and identify key metrics to track individual performance.
  • Work with service counterparts to develop a more robust client experience, including client onboarding through innovation and collaboration
  • Work with marketing team to develop producer specific outbound marketing campaigns to drive additional organic sales
  • Manage the lead generation process with assignment of leads from all available sources, including website and walk in traffic.
  • All other duties as assigned by leadership

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including collaboration, influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Professional qualifications/insurance licenses as required by the Company or ability to secure within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance industry, with sales/production experience preferred
  • Position requires a high degree of financial acumen with an understanding of the insurance brokerage industry, people development and management, change management, and business strategy.
  • Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to implement a corporate strategy on a local basis.
  • Ability to act as a Glenwood Insurance brand ambassador in the Colorado market.
