HIM Specialist II

Overview

Valley View is seeking a HIM Specialist II with strong attention to detail and customer service skills to assist our Medical Records Department. Medical record experience preferred. This is a full-time position. This is an on-site, in-person position only and will work on-site at the Silt Office Building in Silt, CO.

• Performs main medical record activities
• Performs departmental receptionist/secretary duties
• Performs scanning, QA and document indexing activities
• Performs periodic record review activities as directed by HIM management
• Performs routine MPI management functions
• Provides departmental coverage for birth certificate registrations
• Provides release of information services as needed

• Medical Secretary Certification or Health Information Management courses preferred
• Attention to detail
• Consistency and accuracy in routine job functions
• Previous health information experience preferred

Must have a high level of accuracy with attention to detail and critical thinking skills. Must also have the ability to function in a high multi-tasking environment. Computer proficiency required with the ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with all staff, co-workers and customers. Customer service experience is preferred.

• Starting salary dependent upon education, experience, and skillset
• Position wage range: $20.00 - $28.87/hour
