Job Description

SGM seeks a highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter to join our Glenwood Springs, CO staff as a BIM Technician/CAD Drafter our Structural-Buildings Team. This position includes Design work for projects related to building structures. Typical projects will require the generation of construction plan sets in accordance with design and drafting standards of various review agencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to live, work, and play in Western Colorado.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Project startup, modeling assistance, and annotation of drawings
• Redline edits and corrections
• Develop standards documents
• Maintain Revit libraries as well as expand the current family library
• Improve BIM coordination and processes
• Prepare complete sets of drawings using CAD/Revit, including sheet setup, plans, profiles, notes and details
• Work with Engineers to design and layout a project upon receiving sufficient design information
• Manage digital files per company standards
• Produce plans that conform to company design and drafting standards, minimizing QA/QC review time
• Generate plans from scratch as well as handling redlines from engineers and project managers

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

• Associates degree in Engineering Technology/CAD or equivalent industry experience
• Minimum of 3 years of design experience
• Proficient using Revit 2018+, Revit Structure to create building models and construction documents
• Able to work from conceptual drawings to produce construction drawing and details
• Knowledge of architectural and engineering drawings, construction processes, and familiar with various building types, such as commercial, multi-family residential, and custom homes
• Proven ability to work as part of a team to successfully deliver projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, good communication skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Outlook and Excel
• Ability to read and interpret architectural/structural plans and details
• Ability to work independently when needed and be self-motivated
• Valid Driver's License

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of Revit building design/modeling experience.
• BIM
  360 Design experience
• Bluebeam experience
• Experience in the building industry, specifically structural engineering
• MEP experience desirable as well
