SummaryThe Patient Service Representative / Patient Access Representative is the first point of contact for patients at The Derm. This dual‑role position is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while efficiently managing patient scheduling, insurance verification, and referral coordination across two clinic locations and multiple providers.

Essential Functions
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients in person and by phone, providing a welcoming and professional experience
- Schedule, confirm, and manage appointments for four providers across two clinic locations
- Verify patient insurance eligibility
- Process and track referrals and prior authorizations as needed
- Accurately enter and update patient demographics and insurance information in the system
- Communicate clearly with patients regarding appointment details, insurance coverage, and referral requirements
- Collaborate with clinical staff and providers to ensure smooth patient flow and access to care
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations
- Required Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service in a healthcare setting
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience with appointment scheduling and insurance verification preferred
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- 1+ years of recent medical office experience or in a similar capacity is preferred.
- Proficient in basic computer functions.
- Ability to learn new software quickly.
- Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment.
- Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm is preferred.
- Must possess attention to detail.
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to respond positively to constructive feedback and direction from supervisors.
- Must demonstrate professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Must display a friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, and must be compassionate and caring in dealing with others.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
For this position, the base pay range is $18.00 - $22.00 per hour. Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education, certification, or training.
