Location: Glenview, IL | In office 5 days a week

A global, publicly traded organization is seeking a highly skilled Tax Counsel to join its corporate tax team based in Glenview. This role is a key contributor to global tax strategy, partnering closely with senior leadership to execute complex tax initiatives that support business growth and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical tax expertise, strong business judgment, and the ability to manage sophisticated projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

This position reports to a Senior Tax Manager and offers exposure to enterprise-wide tax matters across a global organization.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical tax analysis and execution support for complex transactions including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, cash repatriation, group financing, and reorganizations.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess impacts on global tax positions.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and tax authorities to drive outcomes.
  • Analyze global tax developments and support strategic planning initiatives.
  • Assist with annual tax compliance and reporting requirements.
  • Evaluate the international tax structure and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Support tax audits, inquiries, and documentation requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through process enhancement, automation, and technology.
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and Master of Laws (LLM) in Taxation required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with a Big 4 firm, leading law firm, or corporate tax department of a multinational company.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex tax concepts into clear business guidance.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects effectively.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and results-oriented mindset.
