Senior Tax Counsel

A multinational corporation is seeking an experienced Tax Counsel to support its corporate tax team. Based in Chicago’s north suburbs, this role plays a key part in advancing the organization’s global tax strategy and driving critical tax initiatives. The ideal candidate brings strong technical tax expertise, exceptional analytical capabilities, and the ability to lead complex projects to completion while collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders.

The Tax Counsel reports to a Senior Tax Manager and operates in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.

• Technical tax analysis on complex initiatives, including M&A, divestitures, cash repatriation, group financing, and reorganizations.
• Monitoring legislative and regulatory changes and assessing their impact on the organization’s tax positions.
• Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  , including advisors, business partners, and tax authorities.
• Analysis of global tax developments and their implications for the company’s tax profile.
• Support for annual tax compliance requirements

• Evaluation of the international tax structure to identify opportunities for optimization.
• Contribution to tax audit initiatives and responses to related requests.
• Process improvement opportunities through the use of automation, technology, and the organization’s business model.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school; LLM in Taxation preferred.
• 2+ years of relevant experience with a Big 4 accounting firm, top law firm, or corporate tax department of a U.S.
  
  -based multinational enterprise.
• Ability to work onsite in Glenview five days per week, with flexibility on hours.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills
