Developmental Therapist

Overview

River Therapies is a private therapy company located in the Fox Chapel community of Pennsylvania. We specialize in outpatient, early intervention, and school-based therapy services. Our mission is to serve God, by helping children surpass what others said they would never achieve.

• Provide daily developmental therapy sessions to patients identified as requiring services
• Follow a routine-based model of services for Early Intervention
• Complete daily documentation
• Complete progress reports
• Maintain communication with service team
• Participate in and contribute to family and administrative meetings
• Maintain required communication with families for the betterment of each patient
• Regular meetings with administration staff to discuss caseloads, answer questions, and promote overall employment success
• Maintain a weekly schedule for efficient scheduling and time management abilities
• Promote a safe and welcoming therapeutic environment for patients and families

Our ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early intervention, early childhood special education, early childhood education, child development, special education, or family studies, and 1 year of full-time or full-time-equivalent experience working directly with preschool children with disabilities and their families, or a university-supervised or college-supervised student practicum or teaching experience with preschool children with disabilities and their families.
• OR A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, which includes 15 credit hours in early intervention, early childhood special education, early childhood education, child development, special education or family studies; and 1 year of full-time or full-time-equivalent experience working directly with preschool children with disabilities and their families; and demonstrated knowledge, understanding and skills needed to perform the functions of early interventionst responsibilities

We encourage staff to reach their potential by assisting with certifications and continuing education, and staff meetings are held to increase our working knowledge of topics that are important to our therapists.

Our mentorship opportunities include a 52-week program of outlined education and learning opportunities, regular communication with a team leader, communication with all discipline staff, access to online resources, meetings with administration, and continuing education opportunities to support topics of interest.
