Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in New York requiring Epic experience and strong cardiac/telemetry skills.

• Work on a remote telemetry unit with a focus on adult and geriatric cardiac patients
• 16-bed unit with a 4:1 RN-to-patient ratio
• Uses Epic EMR, Epic experience required
• 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend required
• No on-call or charge nurse responsibilities
• Personal scrubs of any color are permitted, but no designs, cartoons, or hoodies
• Document and monitor cardiac rhythms as required by department standards
• Must be reliable and patient-focused with excellent attendance
• No block scheduling permitted
• Vaccinations are encouraged but not mandatory for this role
• Up to 5 days of requested time off will be considered if noted during submission; no RTO changes after submission
• Facility may cancel up to 5 shifts during the contract with 2 hour notice
• Completion of Welle or CPI verbal de-escalation training required prior to onboarding
• 8-hour non-billable orientation provided
• First-time travelers will be considered

• Active NY RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of recent Med/Surg Tele or cardiac telemetry RN experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
• Epic charting experience required
• Must be proficient in interpreting, measuring, and documenting cardiac rhythms twice per shift
• Previous travel experience and neuro/stroke experience highly preferred
• Must have a personal vehicle
• Permanent address must not be in excluded NY counties (Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, Washington)
• 14-panel drug screen required within 24 hours of offer acceptance
• Supervisory reference from last two years required
• Permanent address must match driver's license or state
