Job DescriptionAre you ready to lead the charge in transforming how we manage Bridges and Structures assets? Fife Council is seeking a dynamic Lead Consultant to join our Bridges and Structures team within Structural Services. This is your chance to make a significant impact by integrating digital solutions into our operations. The primary objective is to lead the Bridges & Structures unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality asset management functions for major road and Transportation structures, adhering to national legislation and the council's standards, while driving top-tier services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional and technical leadership in developing and implementing efficient management functions for major road bridges and transportation structures in Fife.
- Oversee the development of forward design and construction programmes, ensuring budget adherence and effective control.
- Serve as the Technical Approval Authority for Highway Structures in accordance with the DMRB.
- Lead the programme of structural inspections, including the integration of digital improvements.
- Stay ahead of new legislation, best practices, and technical standards, leading the development of innovative responses and strategies.
You are a visionary leader with a passion for digital transformation and a strong background in civil or structural engineering. You are a Chartered Engineer with extensive experience in Bridges and Structures.
- Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (SCQF level 10) or equivalent.
- Chartered status with a relevant professional body (MICE / MCHIT / MI Struct
E / MCIWEM). - Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, promoting a positive culture in the workplace.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage conflicting demands effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of civil engineering specifications, contract management, and health and safety legislation.
- Experience in preparing and managing project plans and programmes, with a focus on digital integration.
