Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with at least 2 years of acute care experience and a current BLS certification for a Level IV acute care hospital.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital with 24-hour emergency services and an attached 71-bed skilled extended care facility

• SLP position focuses on acute care with a patient ratio of 1:5

• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hour shifts from 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday

• No weekend or on-call requirements

• Cerner electronic medical record system is used

• Potential to float within scope based on facility needs

• Open to accommodating block scheduling requests

• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a Level IV trauma environment

• Caseload includes acute care patients with a variety of speech, language, and swallowing needs

• Scrub color is flexible; refer to the dress code policy

• Free parking and housing are provided for clinicians

• No RTO is permitted during the first two weeks due to orientation; only one time off request per contract, maximum one week

• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction

Requirements

• Current state license required (license required if applicable)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

• At least 2 years of experience as an SLP in an acute care setting required

• FEES, LSVT, and SLP-CF certifications preferred

• Pending license considered for consideration

• First-time travelers are not accepted

• Submission must include 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years
