Police Officer

Qualifications

• Have, or be able to obtain prior to hiring, a valid Montana Drivers License
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Good moral character
• Ability to pass a thorough background investigation
• Ability to meet Montana POST physical standards
• Must pass Montana POST written test
• No convictions of a crime which could have resulted in imprisonment in a federal or state penitentiary
• Eligible to possess and train with a firearm
• Montana Post Certification is not required, although preference will be given to those applicants who possess a Post Certification

• Police patrol
• Investigation
• Enforce traffic regulations
• Other related law enforcement duties

• Full-time position, working 12-hour shifts. Days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Starting salary is $4,601.00 per month, with an additional $2.40 per hour differential pay for night shift.
• Incentives available for Associates, Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
• $2.00 per hour incentive for Officers who are Field Training Officers and are in the process of training officers.
• Take home department vehicle.
• Benefits include vacation, comp and sick leave, holiday pay, MPORS 20-year retirement, and part paid health insurance.
• All uniforms and equipment are provided.
