Responsibilities

Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.

Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.

Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.

Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions to prevent shrinkage.

Recommend bakery or deli items to ensure customer satisfaction.

Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.

Follow food safety and temperature logs, and prepare foods following cooking instructions.

Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.

Label, package, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.

Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take necessary actions.

Maintain store layout knowledge and assist customers in locating products.

Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and product knowledge.

Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies.

Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.

Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among staff.

Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.

Inspect and maintain equipment, reporting any repairs needed.

Report accidents or unsafe conditions to management.

Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment, managing conflicts professionally.

Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.

Support and assist customers, including minors, those with special needs, and older adults.

Perform all essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Customer service skills
Effective communication skills
Basic math knowledge
Ability to obtain a food handler's permit upon employment
