Blue Pearl Pet Hospitals in Glendale, WI is looking for a Veterinary Technician to work with our Emergency Department. This role is eligible for a sign‑on bonus of up to $5,000 for qualified candidates.
Work Schedule:
Full‑Time; 4 shifts a week. Pay Range: $21.00 – $39.75 per hour. Weekday shift differential: $3.50. Weekend shift differential: $3.50. Weekend shift differential (Saturday 6a – 8a): $5.00.
- Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.
- Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
- Perform digital radiography using proper technique and positioning of patients.
- Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
- Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert the Veterinarian to changes and issues.
- Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.
- Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.
- Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.
- Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
- Mentor and train co‑workers with passion.
- Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
- Perform additional tasks as needed based on the specific department being covered.
