Position: Patient Service Representative I

Overview

Job Summary: A Patient Service Representative is the first line of contact between patients and our clinics and physicians. The Patient Service Representative follows Madison Medical standards of practice, policies and procedures and supports the philosophy by incorporating them into the clinic. This position is a full time opportunity, reports to the Clinic Supervisor/Regional Director of Clinic Operations, and is located in Glendale.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates professionalism and excellent customer service, communication and patient assistance both in person and on the phone.
  • Schedules patient appointments and manages physician’s schedule according to their preferences.
  • Answers the telephone, screens calls, takes messages, and makes appointment reminder calls.
  • Documents patient information in their record appropriately and accurately; works with others on the care team to acquire additional documentation if needed.
  • Verifies insurance and ensures registration and payer information is correct and current.
  • Monitors and corrects registration errors and uses insurance websites when needed to confirm patient eligibility.
  • Obtains prior authorizations using web based applications or via phone.
  • Prepares correspondence to physicians and patients.
Key Qualifications & Characteristics
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong data entry skills and ability to work with computer applications
  • Organized with a strong attention to detail in a fast paced environment
  • Strong and comfortable communicating with patients, peers, and physicians
  • Demonstrated ability to work well both independently and with co-workers in a team
  • Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information.
  • Some experience preferred
