Come join our FT Maintenance team!

Start date:

May 11, 2026 (negotiable). This is a full-time, year-round position, with the potential to take some time off during the off seasons (Apr-mid/May and Nov-mid/Dec).

Staff member benefits include free on-site community housing (single room, shared common spaces), an hourly wage paid out bi-weekly, one free meal daily, and free and discounted activities.

Our maintenance team members work on a variety of tasks/projects throughout the seasons and off-seasons. It is a small team and there are many times team members are working autonomously. We rely on our maintenance team for all basic maintenance and upkeep in our buildings and around the property and there often larger more extensive projects to work on as well (especially during the off seasons).

Experience in basic maintenance/construction work is highly preferred, but we are willing to teach specific skills- it is our priority to build a team of individuals who are coachable, have a strong work ethic, possess excellent problem-solving skills, are able to work autonomously as well as on a team, and are able/willing to learn new skills quickly and execute them effectively.

  • Has a "Team Outpost" mentality and be willing to jump in wherever needed. There will occasionally be need/opportunities to assist in other departments and around the property, such as picking up trash, dishwashing, food running/bussing, shuttle driving etc...

  • Is a leader and torchbearer for our community culture and values, both on and off the clock.

    Understands and is willingto undertake the challenges of living and working in a communal setting in a remote location.

Job duties:

Potential projects include, but are not limited to:

  • light building/preventative maintenance (caulking, painting, staining, light fixtures/bulbs etc...)

  • remodeling projects (bathrooms, flooring, plumbing, electrical etc...)

  • equipment maintenance (coolers, freezers, pizza ovens, ice machine, fountain machine etc...)

  • grounds upkeep, lawn care, snow removal

  • light construction projects (building decks, stairs etc...)

  • building/fixing fences

  • seasonal turnover of property, winterizing cabins

  • hauling/moving furniture

  • any other tasks and projects as assigned.

Additional duties and expectations:
  • Complete tasks thoroughly and completely, including clean-up of job site and proper storage of tools and equipment.

  • Serve on-call after-hours for emergency maintenance needs, especially in guest cabins

  • Operate heavy machinery: tractor, truck/trailer, skid-steer

  • Operate power tools

  • Occasional shuttle drives

  • Occasional drives to town for errands/to pick up supplies

Required skills:
  • 21 years or older

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Able to safely lift 60lbs

  • Able to sustain prolonged standing, and frequent bending, squatting, and kneeling positions for 8-10 hours per day.

  • Willing to work overtime, as needed (hourly wage is time and a half for OT)

Preferred skills:
  • Experience operating heavy machinery: tractor, truck/trailer, skid-steer

  • Experience operating power tools

Experience with light construction, plumbing, electrical, and flooring.
