Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Controller to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $140,000 to $180,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities- Lead daily accounting activity including the general ledger, revenue recognition, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll tasks.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls while ensuring financial activity follows accounting standards, grant requirements and all applicable rules.
- Work closely with revenue cycle teams to support accurate billing, collection and reimbursement activity and ensure proper reflection in the financial records.
- Provide financial information and analysis to leadership to support planning and decision making.
- Oversee annual audit activity, coordinate with auditors and tax advisors and ensure financial statements and tax filings are completed on time.
- A Bachelor degree in accounting, finance or a closely related field.
- 8+ years of experience in accounting or finance including at least two years in a leadership role.
- Have experience working in a health care environment with understanding of the financial needs of that setting.
- Bring background from public accounting at the senior level considered helpful.
- Understand requirements related to federal awards and experience in that area is a plus.
- Apply strong knowledge of accounting standards and grant related accounting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain awareness of regulatory updates and identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Support departments across the organization by providing guidance related to financial processes and operational needs.
- Lead, mentor and develop team members including hiring, training and performance related activities.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills and work effectively with leadership and cross‑functional partners.
