The Work Unit

The Records Center exists within the Administration Program in the Hazardous Materials and Waste Management Division (HMWMD) to manage the HMWMD official state records which are required by the Division's primary mission in a central depository environment. Records management includes creation, maintenance, use, storage, retrieval, timely destruction and security functions of such records which are accessed by multiple users within the Division and the Department of Public Health and Environment, other governmental agencies and the public.

What

you will be doing

This position processes electronic and hard copy documents, responds to records requests, remediates document for digital accessibility, and assists in digitization projects. Monitors shared email inboxes for electronic records to import. Imports documents into the OnBase electronic document management system. Researches records requests to provide documents, data, and information. Processes documents for assistive technology accessibility. Converts documents to appropriate filetypes as required.

Indexes documents with correct keywords according to program, unit, and document type specifications. Researches documents that require corrections to determine the appropriate document type and indexing information. Coordinates with staff and external entities as necessary to confirm or clarify information.
