The Sales Development Coordinator supports the Director of Sales, Regional Sales Managers and strategic growth by identifying early-stage project opportunities, analyzing market data, and improving pipeline visibility across key vertical markets.
This role researches and organizes project and market information across key verticals, including Healthcare, Behavioral Health, and Architectural Lighting. The position helps improve pipeline visibility, highlight strong opportunities, and support more focused selling through research, reporting, and coordination with internal teams.
The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with data, and proficient in Excel and reporting tools. They collaborate effectively across teams and are skilled at analyzing, distilling, and presenting data in a clear and meaningful way.
Market Opportunity Identification & Tracking- Identify early-stage projects using Construct Connect and other industry databases.
- Research design teams and specifying firms involved in key projects.
- Create and maintain opportunity tracking by territory and rep agency.
- Share strong project opportunities with RSMs and Director of Sales.
- Track large, quoted projects to ensure follow-up and visibility by RSMs.
- Coordinate handoff of qualified opportunities to the appropriate RSM.
- Identify key specifying firms or individuals for targeted outreach and sale team engagement.
- Collect and organize market data across key verticals (Healthcare, Behavioral Health & Architectural).
- Monitor competitor activity and specification patterns, pricing trends, and emerging market shifts.
- Analyze market size and regional opportunity using demographic, economic, and other data sources.
- Highlight territories or verticals with growth potential in underserved territories.
- Pull, analyze, and distribute sales and pipeline reports from Epicor.
- Maintain accurate opportunity tracking.
- Review & analyze project and specifier information from events and industry interactions.
- Support forecasting and improve pipeline visibility.
- Prepare clear sales, market and project reports.
- Support coordination between Sales, Applications Engineering, and Marketing.
- Assist in tracking new product activity within key verticals.
- Provide research support for strategic growth initiatives and rep agency evaluations.
- Identify ways to improve tracking, reporting and internal processes.
- Stay informed on market trends by reviewing industry publications, participating in trade shows, and summarizing relevant insights for the sales team.
- May manage select direct accounts when appropriate.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Sales-minded with a customer-focused approach and an understanding of how their role supports revenue growth.
- Commercial lighting or construction industry experience preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills required.
- Demonstrated planning, multitasking, and critical thinking abilities required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.
- Experience with data analysis, research, and reporting preferred.
- Familiarity with, or curiosity about, emerging data and AI-supported tools and technologies preferred.
- Epicor experience preferred.
- Ability to withstand prolonged periods of computer work, lift 25 lbs.
- Ability to work onsite at the Visa Lighting office in Milwaukee, WI.
- Ability to travel occasionally as business needs require.
