Facility Maintenance, Building Maintenance
Performs a wide variety of responsible custodial and maintenance tasks for assigned buildings and grounds in a clean, sanitary, and safe condition on a night shift at a middle school or day shift at an elementary school. May provide work direction and training to lower level custodial personnel.
THIS RECRUITMENT IS PROMOTIONAL ONLY. Only current permanent employees in the Classified service of the Glendale Unified School District qualify to apply.

- One (1) position at Clark Magnet High School (night shift)
- One (1) position at Jefferson Elementary School (day shift)
- One (1) position at Keppel Elementary School (day shift)
- One (1) position at La Crescenta Elementary School (day shift)
- One (1) position at Mountain Avenue Elementary School (day shift)
The eligibility list resulting from this recruitment will also be used to fill vacancies that may occur during the one-year validity period.

Responsibilities:
- Performs complex and difficult skilled custodial work according to a daily work schedule.
- Assists in planning, assigning, and inspecting the work of other custodians.
- Assists in training of new custodians.
- Operates low pressure steam boilers and/or gas fired forced air furnaces.
- Surveys buildings and grounds for hazards and reports findings to superiors.
- Responds to custodial complaints and inquiries.
- Requisition s custodial supplies and equipment.
- Receives, accounts for, and assists in unloading school and custodial supplies and equipment.
- Arranges auditoriums and other rooms for meetings and special events.
- Assists in security arrangements for special events.
- Provides technical or functional supervision to other custodial maintenance personnel.
- May water lawns and sweep, blow, remove, and pick up leaves and debris on facility grounds.
- Performs related work as required.
Minimum Experience: One year of custodial maintenance experience.
Desirable: Written and oral proficiency in a second language.
License: Possession of a valid, State of California Class C driver's license. Must be insured at standard vehicle liability and property damage insurance rates and maintain insurability.
