Overview
The Unit Secretary/Monitor Technician performs clerical and communication functions on the assigned nursing unit. S/he monitors patients for arrhythmias and alerts proper personnel as needed. She/he provides courteous reception on the nursing unit and coordinates activities for patient care.

- Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience - Completion of an EKG or Rhythm interpretation course
- Minimum Experience/Knowledge:
Minimum of one (1) year current experience as a Unit Secretary and Monitor Tech in an acute care preferred - Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Data entry computer skills
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) card from the American Heart Association.
- ED/Geropsych: AB 508 Certification (if no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
- EKG course required. Successful candidate must pass rhythm recognition exam

The hourly rate for this position is $28.01.
