Nestlé is looking for a Senior Electrical and Automation (E&A) Specialist to join its new factory in Glendale, AZ. This role requires creativity, experience, and the ability to quickly learn and apply new concepts. The Sr. E&A Specialist will integrate power switch gear, automation components, transformers, and branch circuit protection with motors, valves, filters, and sensors into a high-quality system. The focus includes supporting all phases of a project: concept and research;

estimating cost; component selection; network design; panel design; layout; purchasing; device troubleshooting; PLC programming; HMI tagging; and FAT/SAT support. The Sr. E&A Specialist will work with the local Nestlé team, vendors, and corporate resources to achieve project timelines and effectively solve issues. This position is on day shift, typically Monday-Friday.

Project Management
  • Review User Requirement Specification (URS) and make the necessary Electrical and Automation recommendations based on Nestlé standards.
  • Develop scope of work according to Nestlé guidelines and review the bids accordingly.
  • Develop necessary timeline and schedule to keep track of milestones, parts ordered, and vendor commitments.
Design
  • Review/Create electrical schematics along with necessary electrical calculations and SISTEMA documentation.
  • Review/Build Pneumatic Designs needed for the projects.
  • Review/Build control design and MCC designs with vendors and ensure Nestlé standards are followed.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM) – Review/Create the BOM using electrical and pneumatic schematics and track material delivery.
  • Understand P& work with valves and instruments related to process areas.
  • Build FDS based on process descriptions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build the FDS.
PLC Programming
  • Review/Build Process control Descriptions (PCD) and Functional Design Specifications (FDS) for various equipment and machines as needed.
  • Review/Design PLC programs in Rockwell Studio 5000 and Siemens TIA where necessary, ensuring NEAT toolbox 7 is followed where applicable.
  • Create checklists for FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) according to Nestlé guidelines.
HMI/SCADA Development
  • Review/Build HMI screens using Wonderware Software and NEAT 7.0 guidelines.
  • Create a simulation plan to review SCADA functionality such as recipe management, product routes, and CIP routes.
  • Collaborate with factory operations to ensure HMI screens and SCADA controls are intuitive.
Other Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments (Quality, Operations, ME, etc.) to drive continuous improvement projects for line efficiency.
  • Recommend and drive actions to build smart, cohesive systems for seamless integration with other systems.
  • Lead standardization, cost savings, and manufacturing process improvement initiatives.
  • Streamline engineering processes by creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Provide support to process control and process monitoring equipment software design, commissioning, testing, and corrective action.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field required.
  • 3+ years of experience in Electrical or Controls/Automation or Mechatronics Engineering roles required.
  • Experience in the food and beverage industry is preferred.
