Overview
The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) in the Department of Surgery in the Division of Urology are actively seeking a full-time faculty member for the position of Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology (Clinician Educator).
The Division of Urology at CHLA and the Keck School of Medicine at USC is seeking a candidate for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. The Division comprises fellowship-trained and board-certified Pediatric Urologists offering care in 14 community locations. They provide comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care for infants, children, adolescents, and young adults with congenital and acquired pediatric urology disorders.
The division is academically affiliated with the Department of Urology ining is provided for urology and pediatrics residents affiliated with the program and at CHLA.
The Division of Urology is ranked among the top hospitals in the nation for Urology care on the U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals List. Approximately 2,200 surgeries are performed annually, representing one of the largest volumes of pediatric urology surgeries in the region.
CHLA offers advanced technology and treatment options, including endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery, and robotic surgery through the Minimally Invasive Surgery Program, which is among the top five programs in the country for these procedures.
Active research includes stem cells, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, etiology of human cryptorchidism, nanotechnology, and other clinical outcomes research. The division provides comprehensive diagnosis and care for conditions such as bladder exstrophy and other complex genitourinary reconstruction needs, fetal urology, oncology, nephrolithiasis, spina bifida/neurogenic bladder, and voiding dysfunction.
Special Consideration: Experience or strong interest in complex reconstruction (including urinary diversion and bladder exstrophy), genitourinary reconstruction, minimally invasive surgery, endoscopy, and oncology. We are developing an Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Blockchain research core; candidates with experience in these areas and clinical acumen for a busy clinical environment are encouraged to apply. The annual base salary range for this position is $400,000–$770,000. When extending an offer of employment, USC considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, applicable laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, and external market considerations.
Requirements- Must hold an MD degree
- Must be Fellowship Trained from Accredited Pediatric Urology Program
- Board certified / eligible in Urology
- Board certified / eligible in Pediatric Urology
- Strength in teaching
- Experience in patient-oriented basic research
- Strong oral and written communication / interpersonal skills
- Ability to work comfortably in a high-intensity clinical and academic environment
