Program OverviewThe Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California (USC) and Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine are actively seeking a full-time faculty member to join our hematopathology program that is internationally recognized in flow cytometry and molecular technologies. Our team works in close collaboration with the CHLA Cancer and Blood Disease Institute (CBDI) to provide interdisciplinary care for pediatric patients with diverse hematologic conditions and serves as a referral center for multiple institutions and organizations.
Research, clinical service, and teaching responsibilities are intertwined in an engaging and collegial environment.
This position is at the Assistant/Associate Professor level; salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience and scholarly accomplishments. Applicants must have an MD, MD/PhD, or DO degree, a California medical license upon hire and demonstrated excellence in applied laboratory science, translational research and education. American Board of Pathology certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology, and Hematology (Hematopathology) is required. Special consideration will be given to candidates with Molecular Genetic Pathology certification and/or relevant experience.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical laboratory service including diagnostic testing and consultation in hematology/coagulation, flow cytometry, transfusion medicine, and related areas.
- Conduct translational research in hematopathology and molecular technologies.
- Educate fellows through a joint hematopathology fellowship program and interdisciplinary trainees from CBDI and other post‑graduate medical education programs at CHLA and KSOM.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the Divisions of Anatomic Pathology, Laboratory Medicine, Genomic Medicine/Center for Personalized Medicine, and with interdisciplinary research collaborators throughout CHLA and The Saban Research Institute (TSRI).
- MD, MD/PhD, or DO degree.
- California medical license.
- Demonstrated excellence in applied laboratory science, translational research, and education.
- American Board of Pathology certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology and Hematology (Hematopathology).
- Molecular Genetic Pathology certification or relevant experience is desirable.
The annual base salary range for this position is $250,000-$300,000.
