• Create memorable acting choices, defining characters and offering fresh, original ideas. Develop the emotional content of each scene through strong acting skills.
• Work closely with the Head of Character Animation and Supervising Animators to keep characters on model and set a high standard for other animators.
• Take on a range of animation styles and establish outstanding mechanics.
• Consistently find appealing poses that elevate character design or shots.
• Test character setups and develop new animation tools.
• Solve technical issues independently or seek assistance when needed.
• Strong understanding of the CG animation pipeline.
• Strong communication skills to anticipate delays and inform the schedule.
• Adaptable to feedback or changes.
• Mentor new animators, share suggestions and tips, and drive department efficiencies.

• BA or equivalent educational background, or a combination of skills and experience.
• 3+ years of professional CG animation experience.
• Character performance experience.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends when necessary.

• Understanding of rigging.
• Drawing skills.
• Traditional animation skills.
• Storyboarding skills.

Hybrid position – contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

Location:

Glendale, CA — Base salary range $89,752–$135,000 per year.
