This is a full-time role for the position of Transportation Manager - West, overseeing our driver team based at our Glendale, AZ facility. This position will oversee day-to-day operations, including the hiring, training and evaluation of CDL drivers, troubleshooting field issues, engaging with customer site contacts, and ensuring safe and efficient operation of the assigned fleet. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge of DOT regulations and fleet operations with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of our greatest human resources.
This person will also collaborate with other area Transportation Managers and customer service, maintenance, HR and executive teams to optimize the use of company assets, share best practices and exceed our demanding objectives for safety and customer service.
- Strong proficiency in hiring, training, evaluating and motivating a team of CDL drivers - experience with dry bulk pneumatic and/or dump trucks a strong plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Transportation Management, including the use of software and other tools to optimize the performance and availability of a team of 15 to 35 drivers - experience with the Samsara platform a plus.
- Strong Customer Service and Communication skills for delivering goals, addressing potential problems and building relationships with customers, team members and vendors.
- Solid familiarity with US DOT/FMCSA regulations for HOS and safety compliance in the transportation industry.
- A commitment to the LEAN principles of continuous improvement, people-centered operations, and the pursuit of quality.
