Position: Full-Time Assistant Manager

Overview

At Hot Topic, we’re passionate about music, pop culture, and creating an exceptional in-store experience for customers and employees. We’re on the search for a Full-Time Assistant Manager to help lead the store and support the Store Manager in achieving store objectives, including sales targets, recruiting, and development.

Responsibilities
  • Support your Store Manager in achieving the sales plan and/or comparable store sales goals.
  • Help recruit, develop, and retain a collaborative, passionate team to run the store.
  • Engage customers and promote products through promotions, social media, and services such as BOPIS and curbside pickup to drive sales.
  • Provide leadership to maintain an operationally sound business with a balanced approach to operations, delegation/autonomy, and customer-first selling practices.
  • Monitor shrink/loss prevention, payroll hours, and associate schedules.
  • Collaborate with retail leadership and HQ partners on trends and customer feedback.
  • Run sales reports and use data to guide strategy to achieve sales targets.
  • Merchandise the store effectively, using planograms as a guide and launching promotions on time.
  • Develop a team of loyal, high-performing, customer-focused associates in partnership with the Store Manager.
Qualifications
  • At least 1-2 years of retail store management experience; love of music and pop culture is a plus.
  • Experience leading teams to success with skills in communication, recruiting, operations (payroll, reporting, scheduling, merchandising), and developing staff.
  • Strong communication, time management, professionalism, operational acumen, and a drive to develop your team.
  • A high school diploma or GED; a degree is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-changing retail environment.
  • Ability to navigate the store, merchandise products with approved equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
