As an Emergency Department (ED) Registered Nurse (RN), you will deliver compassionate, high-quality care during critical, time-sensitive situations eph's Westgate. You will be the frontline provider in a dynamic environment, stabilizing and managing a broad range of acute medical conditions and traumas.
You will leverage your specialized expertise to provide rapid, individualized, comprehensive care, performing swift assessments, skilled procedures, and urgent patient care plans for patients of all ages. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including physicians, advanced practice providers, paramedics, and support staff, to focus on immediate stabilization and optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities- Rapid Assessment & Triage:
Provide comprehensive, safe, and effective nursing care with rapid assessments to prioritize patient needs and facilitate timely intervention for medical and traumatic emergencies. - Emergency Interventions:
Organize and prioritize care while addressing the urgent needs and comfort of critically ill or injured patients. Initiate and manage life-saving interventions. - Patient & Family Support:
Act as an advocate, delivering holistic care and clear communication to patients and families during stressful times. - Clinical Acuity & Adaptability:
Recognize, interpret, and adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions, including labs, vitals, and test values, in a timely and clinically appropriate manner.
Education and Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Preferred: BSN. Must have 1 to 2 years of experience in ED.
Licensure: AZ RN license or RN License from a Compact State.
Certification:
- BLS certification (AHA Only)
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
- PALS certification within 6 months of hire
Located off the Loop 101 and Glendale Avenue in Glendale, Arizona, eph’s Westgate Medical Center, a campus of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. As part of the new 35-acre medical campus, St. Joseph’s Westgate Medical Center features new approaches to healthcare through collaboration with Dignity Health partners. The Westgate team focuses on patient and physician-centered service and the continuum of care.
St. Joseph’s Westgate Medical Center includes a 12-bed ED, a 24-bed inpatient unit, 2 operating rooms, 2 procedural rooms, diagnostic services, an ambulance bay and helipad. The campus emphasizes innovative uses of materials to promote patient safety, satisfaction and medical efficiency.
St. Joseph’s is renowned for quality qua ternary care, education and research, with affiliations such as Barrow Neurological Institute, Norton Thoracic Institute, Cancer Center eph's, Ivy Brain Tumor Center, and St. Joseph’s Level I Trauma Center (ACS-accredited). The hospital is recognized for treating complex cases from around the world, with about 20 percent of patients traveling from outside Arizona and the United States.
