Shipping & Receiving Clerk

With direct guidance in a team environment, the Shipping and Receiving team is responsible for performing a variety of product support duties following well defined procedures and processes in one or more of the following functions: unboxing, induction, paperwork, outsourcing, oil & bag, finished goods, shipping, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Unboxing:
    • Inspect products upon arrival.
    • Tear down boxes and place in bins.
  • Induction:
    • Verify documents and labels to product receiving.
    • Report discrepancies or damage to team lead.
    • Communicate with internal customers.
  • Outsourcing:
    • Verification of incoming and outgoing shipments to vendors.
    • Communicate with internal customers.
    • Working with warehouse management system.
  • Oil & Bag:
    • Assemble, label, and packaging product per customer specifications.
    • Works with preservative oil.
    • Working with warehouse management system.
  • Finished Goods:
    • Working with warehouse management system and generates export compliance documents.
    • Working with import/export materials procedure and customs regulations.
    • Working with internal customers.
  • Shipping:
    • Pull and prepare packaging for shipments.
    • Assemble, label, and package product.
    • Pallet stacking, banding, and stretch wrapping.

All sub‑departments observe all safety rules and regulations and maintain the work area in a neat and orderly condition.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 6 months of direct industry related experience in warehouse environment.
  • Prior knowledge of components or flow of material.
  • Able to adapt to procedures, techniques, and/or processes to meet special needs on varied assignments.
  • Demonstrate effective verbal, written, and basic computer skills.
  • Able to implement and effectively apply lean initiatives.
  • Possess effective interpersonal communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a high performing team environment.
  • Able to interpret reports and use standard business software applications.
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
