Gold’s Gym is growing fast and looking for a General Manager to help us provide world-class service to our clubs and members by utilizing in-depth knowledge of company products and programs. Responsibilities- Assemble and manage a fully engaged and high-performing membership team that aligns with company initiatives and culture.
- Ensure project/department milestones and goals are met and adhere to approved budgets.
- Enforce all club rules and policies and promote proper execution of procedures.
- Keep the club fully staffed by reviewing applications, interviewing, and making hiring recommendations to the general manager.
- Drive results and continuous improvement in Service and Fitness through strong business acumen, relationship-building, clear communication, and accountability of department heads.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate daily/weekly/monthly club functions to maximize club profitability with a member-centric focus.
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, and nurture friendly and inclusive team members to support member needs and place people in roles where they can impact member goals.
- Train, mentor, and develop club leaders through coaching, accountability, and modeling exemplary behavior.
- Problem-solve obstacles with and for the team to ensure an outstanding member and team member experience, fostering trust through delegation and empowerment.
- Guide department leaders in setting goals, applying club strategies, and achieving club and career goals.
- Cross-train to build versatile minds and skills, transferring capabilities that enable creative, solution-oriented thinking.
- Foster a sense of shared responsibility and teamwork across club functions to maintain a positive experience for members and staff, leveraging diverse strengths.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to grow the member community.
- 3-5 years of progressive management experience supervising 3-10 employees with measurable outcomes in development and promotion
- 5-7 years of broad retail/hospitality/operations experience with emphasis on high execution in operations and service
- Experience managing P&L and trend reports with strong math and analytical skills
- Proven success in creating or rebuilding teams in a collaborative environment
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with strong listening abilities
- Experience turning around underperforming operational or financial areas
- Demonstrated ability to implement strategy and delegate effectively
- High School diploma or equivalent required;
Bachelor’s degree preferred - CPR and AED certification required
- Bilingual preferred
This role requires the ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs. Standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, and maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance in a clean uniform.
Compensation and Benefits- Salary: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
