Part Time Custodian

Title: Part Time Custodian

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Perform hazardous waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
• Work in a team with other employees.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Communicate with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
• Fill in during staff shortage.
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems and the environment.

Education: No specific education requirement. 3‑6 months training or experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid driver’s license may be required. Completion of all safety and task training certifications required. Forklift certification may be required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bilingual a plus. Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with team. Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment. Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Frequent sitting and talking or listening; must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
• Work environment characteristics representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Compensation: $14.70–$15.15 per hour

Shift: Monday – Friday, 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm
