Position: IT Support Specialist I
Provides technical and troubleshooting assistance related to end user components including, but not limited to, personal computer hardware and software, mobile devices (iPads), audiovisual equipment, Apple TVs, VoIP system, and a variety of other classroom technology tools and products. The job requires a mindset to learn new technologies, effectively troubleshoot technical problems and provide excellent customer service to staff, students and parents in a high demand environment.

Personal transportation between 2 school campuses is also required along with after-hours work to support evening school events and the completion of technology tasks/projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves technology problems for school staff and student’s personal computer software and hardware, mobile devices (iPads), the Internet, audiovisual equipment, Apple TVs, VoIP system and other classroom technology.
Provides one-on-one end-user problem resolution remotely and in-person for 2 school campuses.
Order, deliver, tag, and assist in the configuration of all classroom technology.
Completes end user move/add/change requests and manages user accounts in a variety of systems including, but not limited to, Active Directory, Exchange Online, Office 365, Constant Contact, Pearson Success Net, etc.
Diagnoses and resolves end-user network or local printer problems and local-area network access problems.
Coordinates timely repair of classroom technology equipment covered by third-party vendor maintenance agreements.
Performs minor hardware repair for computer and mobile device equipment and peripherals that are not covered by third-party vendor maintenance agreements.
Assists in the installation of local area network cabling systems and equipment such as network interface cards, hubs, and switches.
Maintains technology inventory and assists in the management of warranties.
Assists the Technology department in creating materials for staff and student frequently asked questions (FAQs).
Primarily responsible for the initial troubleshooting and routing of all new service requests and escalate issues as needed.
Conducts scheduled morning/afternoon procedures to ensure the network and other systems are properly functioning.
Ensures proper communication regarding service requests is generated for all open and closed items.
Ability to run, test and troubleshoot cabling in existing buildings.
Other related job duties as assigned.

Knowledge of:

Windows and iOS operating systems, various software applications (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Office
365, Webroot, mobile applications, etc.) and basic hardware for the PC and iPad; principles and theories of network systems and management;
Internet technologies (TCP/IP, VoIP, etc.) and products; cable management; basic understanding of electrical safety procedures. Knowledge of interactive panels (InFocus JTouch, Promethean Activ Panel, etc.) and Apple TV’s along with N-Computing and Word Press site management, desired, but not required.

Minimum Qualifications:

One year providing end-user support for desktop and application software OR one year installing, upgrading, troubleshooting and repairing personal computers in a network environment. General understanding of a broad spectrum of technologies/devices. One-year college-level course work and MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) or equivalent certification preferred, but not required. Must be able to conduct triage and prioritize tasks and be an effective communicator both verbally and written.

In addition to the above, all Desert Heights Charter Schools applicants must have a valid AZ IVP Fingerprint Clearance card, current resume, 3 letters of recommendation along with copies of certifications for immediate consideration.
