Position: CSLP Student Worker - System of Care Center Support Coordinator (FWS - CSLP)

Purpose:

Grand Canyon University (GCU) maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations identified by the IRS as 501(c)(3) by virtue of their charitable programs. The collective mission of 501(c)(3) organizations in the Phoenix Valley is to improve the quality of life for community residents or to solve particular problems related to those residents’ needs.

GCU maintains a partnership with the Glendale Elementary School District (GESD) System of Care Center located at 7677 W. Bethany Home Road, Glendale, AZ, 85303. The GESD System of Care Center (SoCC), through interagency collaboration, provides resources to improve the outcomes for those engaged with the GESD community. The CSLP student worker’s work schedule is dependent on the hours of operations and needs of the GESD SoCC;

however, CSLP student workers may not work more than 20 hours per week during the academic year (i.e., fall/spring). If eligible, CSLP student workers can work during summer (i.e., May – August).
* CSLP:
This position has been reviewed and approved as Community Service as defined by 34 CFR 675.2(b). Per 34 CFR 675.2(b), community services are defined as, “Services which are designed to improve the quality of life for community residents, particularly low-income individuals, or to solve particular problems related to their need.” These services must be open and accessible to the community.
** As an FWS-CSLP approved position, its services will be offered to non-GCU community members (i.e., local residents).

** Primary Responsibilities /Accountabilities/

Essential Functions:

** Direct Service to Students and Families
* Assist families accessing basic needs, including clothing, hygiene items, school supplies, and food through the Center.
* Provide on-site support for events such as wellness fairs, community resource nights, and distribution days.
* Greet and assist walk-in clients, helping them connect to available services and support.
* Organize, prepare, and distribute donations and supplies to meet student and family needs.
* Serve as a point of contact for families and community partners during scheduled programs and events.

Program Coordination & Administrative Duties
* Maintain accurate records of services provided, event participation, and inventory usage in alignment with CSLP and district requirements.
* Support the scheduling and coordination of partner visits, service appointments, and internal program logistics.
* Assist in preparing communication materials such as flyers, calendars, and outreach documents.
* Track and manage inventory of in-kind donations and supplies.
* Coordinate volunteer activities, including scheduling, communication, and on-site support.

Please note this position may require occasional evening or weekend hours to support events.

* Qualifications:

* ** Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
*** Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, human services, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
* Experience working with families, schools, or community-based programs.
* Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset.
* Passion for community service, equity, and supporting underserved populations.
* Must have reliable transportation.

* Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
* Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
* Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.
* You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
