Typical night shifts are 12 hours long, with some start and end times flexibility depending on client needs. This schedule is ideal for many caregivers because it allows for three shifts per week and four days off. Shift schedules are often consistent, enabling you to plan your life around work. There are often additional opportunities for overtime pay. As a night shift caregiver, you will have support from your care team, who are available 24/7 to answer questions regarding client care, so you are never alone.

Night Shift Caregiver Job Responsibilities

Each of our senior clients and their families have unique needs, and the ideal candidate will be able to accommodate them. Keep in mind that responsibilities can vary from client to client:

• Drive seniors to appointments, meetings, and church services.
• Help seniors go shopping at their local Glendale market
• Go to lunch or grab an ice cream with your client

• Keep your client beautiful assisting with bathing and grooming
• Incontinence care management to avoid embarrassment
• Light housekeeping to reduce stress at home

• Maintain vitality through meal preparation
• Avoid hospital readmissions with medication reminders
• Keep seniors out of danger with memory care safety

• Assist with physical therapy exercises
• Be the eyes and ears for hospice care
• Report changes in condition

Night Shift Caregiver Job Requirements

Ability To Work

• 4-hour to 12-hour shifts in the Glendale area
• Optional overtime often available

• Pass a criminal background check
