The South Tower includes a full-service Emergency Department and all-private rooms. The designation as an Arizona Level I Trauma Center enables Banner Thunderbird Medical Center to provide total care for injury from initial treatment through rehabilitation, reducing the need to transfer patients for life-saving care. This position is a Full-Time Night Shift ED Tech. The hours are 6:00pm–6:30am for 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, including weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. Self-scheduling is available for shift and weekend coverage with a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18% Night Shift differential.

Responsibilities
Provide patient care and assist health care providers in performing assigned patient procedures within scope of training. Receive general supervision from RN, APN, PA, or Physician in providing patient care.Under general supervision, perform procedures including, but not limited to: electrocardiogram testing (EKG); wound cleansing; initial, repeat and orthostatic vital sign measurements; application of monitor leads; specimen collection; and transports of stable telemetry or non-monitored patients to nursing units. Advanced skills may include blood glucose testing, phlebotomy, saline lock insertion, IV discontinuation, and bladder (Foley) catheterization for adult patients and pediatric patients twelve years of age and older, as allowed by state statute and facility guidelines, upon direct delegation.Set up and assist with patient examinations and minor procedures within scope of training, such as lumbar punctures; sterile instrument and field preparation; suturing; chest tube insertion; closed fracture reduction; gastric lavage; pelvic examinations; restraint application; and CPR. Apply orthopedic devices, including pre-manufactured and plaster splints, under physician direction.Perform specimen collection with accurate patient identification and integrity, using appropriate techniques for all age criteria as required by Lab. Where permitted by state statute, perform point-of-care testing for blood glucose, occult blood tests, or other tests and perform quality control checks on point-of-care equipment as required.Provide communication and updates to RN, Physician, or other providers regarding changes in patient condition. Accurately document information in the patient record, including vital signs and procedures performed, equipment used, and techniques utilized.Monitor supply stock levels; report needs; coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, biomedical engineering, and others to ensure proper equipment and a safe environment. Maintain appropriate stock levels in medication rooms, exam rooms, and carts. Assist with health unit coordination tasks and reception duties as needed.Attend department meetings and educational sessions; assist in orienting and training new ED Technicians.Operate under general supervision from licensed health…
