As a Pediatric Emergency Department Nurse, you will care for pediatric patients with diverse acuity levels in a brand-new facility. This role requires a strong background in pediatric critical care or emergency department nursing. New Grad RN's will not be considered; please apply to the RN-New Grad opening.
Our Pediatric Emergency Department at Arrowhead Campus features 30 beds (6 safer rooms, 24 mixed acuity beds, 1 treatment room, 2 resuscitation bays). We are committed to high-quality, compassionate care in a cutting-edge environment.
Position Duties- Complete nursing assessments of patient conditions (age- and condition-appropriate) to determine initial treatment plan alignment and ongoing needs; perform ongoing assessments and identify variations from diagnoses.
- Evaluate patient responses to care, teaching, and discharge plans; document progress and share observations with the healthcare team and families.
- Ensure compliance with medication, storage, and documentation standards and collaborates with the team to support patient safety.
- Provide orientation to unit systems and processes for patients and families.
- Supervise and delegate activities to assigned team members; provide feedback to ensure safe care delivery and adherence to infection control and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with the care team and families to implement the plan of care; participate in rounds and care conferences as appropriate.
- Model best practices and patient-centered care; mentor students and new employees.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Education Two-year ADN, or four-year BSN, or nursing diploma. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or current enrollment in RN-to-BSN program (preferred).
- Experience At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience outside of formal education (preferred).
- Licenses/Certifications Current State of Arizona RN license or valid multistate license;
Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers; CPI (within 3 months); ENPC (within 2 years); PALS or equivalent (within 9 months); TNCC/Trauma Nursing Core Course or equivalent (within 2 years). - Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to perform required physical tasks (lifting up to 35 pounds; frequent standing, walking, bending, and repetitive motion); exposure to airborne particles, blood borne pathogens, and other hazards consistent with an ED setting.
