Financial Aid Administrator

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Student Financial Services, the Financial Aid Administrator works in all aspects of financial aid, ensuring compliance with Federal, State and institutional regulations while emphasizing communication and student service.

Responsibilities
  • Advise students on eligibility, aid options, application procedures and cost of attendance, tailoring information to individual needs.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to students/families, faculty and staff via phone, in person, virtually or email.
  • Calculate and package financial aid awards, validate eligibility for federal, institutional and other aid.
  • Perform federal and institutional verification and monitoring as required.
  • Review and recommend institutional and external scholarship applications to the Director.
  • Administer and oversee institutional and private grant/scholarship programs.
  • Originate, process and troubleshoot Direct, Private, Institutional and other loan applications using CX‑10 and related systems.
  • Maintain and correct ISIR data, process loan revisions/refunds and prepare check requisitions.
  • Administer the Federal Work‑Study Program, including payroll, balance reconciliation and staff postings.
  • Process budget appeals and recommend outcomes to the Assistant Director and Budget Appeal Committee.
  • Update financial aid publications, forms, policy manuals, catalogs, and website content as needed.
  • Provide front‑desk coverage and participate in after‑business hours as occasionally required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of two years’ experience in higher education financial aid or a similar position.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Office, Excel, PowerPoint, CX‑10 and ELM.
  • Knowledge of federal education websites and systems (COD, CPS, NSLDS, IFAP, etc.).
  • Strong analytical, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team, collaborate with multiple departments, and manage multiple priorities.
Physical Demands

Occasional standing, walking, reaching, sitting and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Work Environment

Moderate noise level in an office setting.
