Join ENERCON as a Part-Time Principal I&C Engineer. We are seeking experienced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineers at the Principal level to apply their knowledge to essential energy sector projects. This part‑time position (averaging 30 hours or less per week) offers flexibility for professionals who want to continue driving results and contributing expertise while maintaining a balanced schedule.

Our engineers collaborate with interdisciplinary partners, coordinate with diverse engineering teams, and ensure project success. A typical day may include developing design studies, preparing engineering calculations & analysis, attending project meetings, performing a walkdown, or mentoring junior employees.

• Create Impactful Engineering Deliverables: produce precise and error‑free drawings, calculations, and analyses that exceed industry codes, standards, and client expectations.

• Be Active in the Field: take expertise on site, engaging directly with client personnel, performing detailed plant walkdowns, and ensuring all structures, systems, and components meet the highest engineering standards.

• Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent related field plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in one of the following industries: engineering/design services, power generation, nuclear power, heavy industrial (chemical or pulp & paper), and government (DOE) projects.
• Qualifications for Nuclear Engineering Change (NEC) from any site that can be transferred are preferred.

• Knowledge of digital hardware and software components commonly used in digital I&C system platforms.
• Experience in the design, installation, and testing of large‑scale (complete systems) digital control and computer monitoring system upgrades at power plants, including replacement of turbine/generator control systems with DCS platforms, process computers, and cybersecurity systems.
• Direct involvement in the entire digital upgrade life cycle: feasibility studies, procurement specifications, design change packages, FAT/SAT test procedure development, installation, and testing.
• Working knowledge of the application of current regulatory and industry digital upgrade standards.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical skills and problem‑identification/resolution.
• Mandated to have ability to mentor early to mid‑career engineers; preferred if already experienced.
• Must be able to get badged at a nuclear facility.
• Must be able to perform plant walkdowns.

USD $90,000.00 – $ per year.
