Part-Time Civil Structural Engineer - Principal Level Overview
Join ENERCON as a Part-Time Principal Civil/Structural Engineer. We seek highly skilled professionals to design and deliver critical infrastructure projects, with a flexible schedule averaging 30 hours or less per week. This role offers the opportunity to stay engaged in impactful work while enjoying greater work‑life balance.
Responsibilities- Conduct detailed analysis and design of critical structures and components.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet seismic, environmental, and other safety regulations.
- Evaluate proposed plant modifications to maintain safety and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and specifications.
- Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate and integrate design efforts.
- Lead design initiatives by developing innovative studies, scope documents, and accurate engineering estimates.
- Innovate solutions to complex technical challenges with fresh ideas and creative problem‑solving strategies.
- Engage in field operations: travel for site walk‑downs, oversee field installations, and support system start‑ups.
- Inspire teams by leading by example and motivating to achieve ambitious goals.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 10 years of power system design experience in the nuclear or power industry.
- Experience in engineering/design services, power generation, nuclear power, heavy industrial (chemical or pulp & paper), or government (DOE) projects.
- Proficiency in preparing structural calculations.
- Knowledge of discipline‑specific computer analysis codes and standard office production software.
- Proficient in Word and Excel.
- Familiar with International Building Code and other relevant building code design.
- Strong writing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both individually and in teams.
- Familiarity with concrete and steel design codes, working‑stress, and ultimate‑strength design approaches.
- Preference for candidates with mentorship experience or a desire to mentor early‑to‑mid‑career engineers.
- Must be able to obtain a badge at a nuclear facility.
- Must be able to perform plant walk‑downs.
USD $90,000.00 – $ per year.

Individual compensation within the stated range will depend on location, experience, skills, and training.
