Job ResponsibilitiesThe following responsibilities tie into our strategic plan to include Student Success, Safety and Well‑being, Stewardship of Community Resources, and Community Connection. We believe these four areas help us remain focused on Peoria Unified's vision:

- Oversee Kid Zone staff and day to day operations.
- Establish and maintain good rapport with students, employees, and community.
- Create and maintain Kid Zone classroom rosters and class lists.
- Plan, organize and supervise the duties of the staff.
- Collect, verify and process Kid Zone registration forms.
- Monitor Kid Zone payments and communicate with families regarding delinquencies.
- Complete staff scheduling for all Kid Zone locations and EdCamp locations.
- Schedule substitute staff as necessary.
- Make necessary arrangements to accommodate children with special needs and health concerns.
- Purchase and care for equipment and materials necessary to carry out planned activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all Kid Zone purchases.
- Monitor equipment to assure that it is in safe working order, arranging for repairs or replacement when needed.
- Complete regular classroom observations and provide feedback to staff using quality assessment tools.
- Assist in the facilitation of staff meetings.
- Participate in interviewing and evaluating staff.
- Participate in community outreach to promote program growth.
- Fill in, as needed, for program staff.
- Maintain accurate records of enrollment and attendance of the students.
- Comply with DHS regulation to achieve satisfactory inspection reports by the Child Care Licensure Division of the Department of Health Services.
- Annually, complete a minimum of 18 verifiable hours of approved training per Department of Health Services regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required.
- Knowledge of applicable Federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, policies and procedures
- Knowledge of applicable Peoria Unified School District and departmental policies and procedures
- Knowledge of Word and Excel programming
- Knowledge of Synergy
- Arizona Teacher Certification or Substitute Certificate preferred. Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Education, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of one-year experience with school‑age children in a group setting.
- Effective communications skills.
- Provide documentation of a negative Mantoux TB test.
- Must meet staff qualifications to be a facilities director under Section R9-5-401 of the Arizona Administrative Code. Applicant must provide written documentation of one of the following:
- High school or high school equivalency diploma & completion of at least 6 credit hours in early childhood, child development or closely related field in an accredited college or university or 60 actual hours of instruction.
