The Center for Teaching, Learning, and Engagement (CTLE) provides Glendale Community College faculty opportunities for growth and the means to learn innovative teaching strategies for all instructional environments, and staff opportunities for connection and learning to be most effective in their work. Reporting to the Teaching and Learning Director, the Training and Development Consultant plays a vital role on the CTLE team.
Key requirements of this position include developing and implementing training and professional development events for faculty and staff. In addition, this position helps provide ongoing support to faculty and staff and their use of our learning management system and other work-related needs.
25% - Designs, develops, coordinates, and delivers instructor-led and alternative training and organizational development programs using instructional design methodologies. Conducts needs assessments, researches new technologies, and stays abreast of current needs and research to provide the most relevant and effective training programs. Collaborates with departments, administrators, and committees to support various professional development needs.
25% - Provides technical and functional support for the Learning Management System (currently Canvas) and other academic technologies which may include troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving issues. Assists faculty and staff with learning how to use the tool effectively for their needs.
20% - Designs, develops, organizes and executes larger professional development events for the college and district. Creates systems for effective planning and implementation.
